Leaving High Street we turn right and have a short walk to Aldbrough House. A very attractive Georgian country house. Hornsea road itself is characterised by lines of terraced cottages, typical of which is the The Smithy. Near the fish & chip shop is number 22 Hornsea rd, noted for its ancient stained glass windows.
Opposite the Store is Carlton lane a leafy part of Aldbrough that winds eventually to Burton Constable Hall. On the Corner is The primitive Methodist Chapel.
In North Street there are the best examples of how cobbles have been used in the construction of ordinary dwellings, often used as foundations and here as substantial parts of wall.
